Rt. Hon. Henry Unwin Addington was born on 24 March 1790.1 He was the son of Rt. Rev. John Hiley Addington and Mary Unwin.2 He married Eleanor Anne Bucknall-Estcourt, daughter of Thomas Grimston Bucknall Bucknall-Estcourt and Eleanor Sutton, on 10 November 1836.1 He died on 6 March 1870 at age 79, without issue.1
He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary for Spain.1 He held the office of Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs between 1842 and 1854.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1
