     John Vincent Sheffield was born on 11 November 1913.¹ He was the son of Sir Berkeley Digby George Sheffield, 6th Bt. and Julie Marie Barones van Tuyll van Serooskerken.² He married, firstly, Anne Margaret Faudel-Phillips, daughter of Sir Lionel Lawson Faudel Faudel-Phillips, 3rd Bt. and Armyne Evelyn Gordon, on 21 April 1936.¹ He married, secondly, France Mary Agnes Clarke, daughter of Brig.-Gen. Goland Vanholt Clarke, on 11 October 1971.² He died on 9 May 2008 at age 94.³

     From 21 April 1936, her married name became Sheffield.
