     John Andrew Shaw-Mackenzie of Tordarroch and 3rd of Newhall was born on 23 April 1797.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. John Shaw of Tordarroch, 11th Chief of Clan Ay and Anna Nesbitt.² He married Elizabeth Gover.¹ He died on 23 August 1886 at age 89, without issue.¹
     He held the position of 17th Chief of the Clan Shaw from.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ross and Cromarty.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ross and Cromarty.¹ He held the position of 12th Chief of the Clan Ay from.¹ He was given the name of John Andrew Shaw at birth.¹ He was with the Bombay Civil Service between 1817 and 1845.¹ His name was legally changed to John Andrew Shaw-Mackenzie.¹ In 1842 he was heir of entail in right of his paternal grandmother to the estate of Newhall hence added surname and arms of Mackenzie.¹ He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 20 September 1857.¹

     Alexander Nesbitt Shaw was the son of Maj.-Gen. John Shaw of Tordarroch, 11th Chief of Clan Ay and Anna Nesbitt.² He married Georgiana Hodson, daughter of Reverend Frodsham Hodson.¹ He died on 4 August 1872.¹
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ross and Cromarty.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ross and Cromarty.¹ He was with the Bombay Civil Service between 1821 and 1851.¹

     Reverend Frodsham Hodson was Master at Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.² He held the office of Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹ He was Regius Professor of Divinity.¹

     Georgiana Hodson is the daughter of Reverend Frodsham Hodson.² She married Alexander Nesbitt Shaw, son of Maj.-Gen. John Shaw of Tordarroch, 11th Chief of Clan Ay and Anna Nesbitt.¹
     Her married name became Shaw.

     John Alexander Shaw was the son of Alexander Nesbitt Shaw and Georgiana Hodson.² He died, young.¹
