     Alexander Abernethy, 9th Lord Saltoun of Abernethy was born on 26 March 1611.1 He was the son of John Abernethy, 8th Lord Saltoun of Abernethy and Anne Stewart.2 He died circa 15 December 1668, unmarried.1 He was buried between 17 December 1668 and 18 December 1668.1
     He succeeded as the 9th Lord Saltoun of Abernethy [S., 1445] on 13 July 1612.1 He sold the Saltoun estate in 1643.1
