     Sir Shirley Harris Salt, 3rd Bt. was born on 4 May 1857.¹ He is the son of Sir William Henry Salt, 2nd Bt. and Emma Dove Octaviana Harris.² He married Charlotte Jane MacDonnell, daughter of Very Rev. John Cotter MacDonnell, on 9 September 1880.¹ He died on 11 February 1920 at age 62.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Breconshire.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Leicestershire.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Salt, of Saltaire, co. York [U.K., 1869] on 7 July 1892.¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practise as a barrister.¹

     Constance Dove Salt was the daughter of Sir William Henry Salt, 2nd Bt. and Emma Dove Octaviana Harris.² She married Reverend Arthur FitzGerald Evans on 20 April 1887.¹ She died in 1912.¹

     Sir John William Titus Salt, 4th Bt. was born on 30 November 1884.¹ He is the son of Sir Shirley Harris Salt, 3rd Bt. and Charlotte Jane MacDonnell.² He married, firstly, Dorothy Baker Brown, daughter of Brig.-Gen. William Baker Brown, on 11 September 1913.¹ He and Dorothy Baker Brown were divorced in 1926.¹ He married, secondly, Stella Houlton Jackson, daughter of Richard Houlton Jackson, on 25 June 1926.¹ He died on 22 January 1953 at age 68.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Salt, of Saltaire, co. York [U.K., 1869] on 11 February 1920.¹
