     Hon. Janet Mary Blades was born on 25 May 1916.^1,2 She was the daughter of George Rowland Blades, 1st Baron Ebbisham and Margaret Emma Retner.^1,2 She married Rear-Admiral John Edwin Home McBeath, son of John Home McBeath, on 6 June 1952.^1,2 She died on 7 April 2011 at age 94.¹
     She gained the rank of 2nd Officer in the Women’s Royal Naval Service.² From 6 June 1952, her married name became McBeath.¹
