     Jean Cecely Mary Grant was born on 2 May 1909.¹ She is the daughter of John Peter Grant, 13th of Rothiemurchus and Lady Mary Augusta Pierrepont.¹ She married, firstly, Ian Keith Matheson, son of Hugh Mackay Matheson and Katharine Isobel Arbuthnot, on 2 July 1935.¹ She married, secondly, Commander Patrick Hugh Matheson, son of Hugh Mackay Matheson and Katharine Isobel Arbuthnot, on 15 April 1942.¹
