     From 8 January 2000, her married name became Persse.¹

     Sir James Clerk-Rattray of Craighall-Rattray, 26th of Rattray was born on 31 October 1832.¹ He was the son of Robert Clerk-Rattray of Craighall-Rattray, 25th of Rattray and Christina Richardson.² He died on 30 July 1910 at age 77, unmarried.¹
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.¹ He fought in the Crimean War, where he was wounded at the Redan.¹ He fought in the Indian Rebellion, at Havelock’s relief and subsequent defence of Lucknow.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 90th Foot (Perthshire Light Infantry.)¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Scot Rifles.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Perthshire.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Perthshire.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1881.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1897.¹

     Adam Clerk-Rattray was born in December 1833.¹ He was the son of Robert Clerk-Rattray of Craighall-Rattray, 25th of Rattray and Christina Richardson.² He died in July 1870 at age 36, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 92nd Highlanders.¹

     Elizabeth Susan Clerk-Rattray was the daughter of Robert Clerk-Rattray of Craighall-Rattray, 25th of Rattray and Christina Richardson.² She married Reverend John Alexander Higgins Burn-Murdoch of Higgins-Neuck, son of John Burn-Murdoch of Coldoch and Gartincaber, on 21 October 1857.¹ She died in October 1914.¹
     From 21 October 1857, her married name became Burn-Murdoch.

     John Burn-Murdoch of Coldoch and Gartincaber held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹) He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Gartincaber, Perthshire, Scotland.¹

     Reverend John Alexander Higgins Burn-Murdoch of Higgins-Neuck was the son of John Burn-Murdoch of Coldoch and Gartincaber.² He married Elizabeth Susan Clerk-Rattray, daughter of Robert Clerk-Rattray of Craighall-Rattray, 25th of Rattray and Christina Richardson, on 21 October 1857.¹ He died on 9 May 1883.¹

     Paul Robert Burn-Clerk-Rattray of Craighall-Rattray, 27th of Rattray was born on 26 March 1859.¹ He is the son of Reverend John Alexander Higgins Burn-Murdoch of Higgins-Neuck and Elizabeth Susan Clerk-Rattray.² He married Ferelith Ramsay, daughter of Sir James Henry Ramsay, 10th Bt. and Charlotte Fanning Stewart, on 12 October 1910.¹ He died on 12 May 1937 at age 78.¹
     He was given the name of Paul Robert Burn-Murdoch at birth.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Perthshire.¹ Between 1899 and 1902 Boer War.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Perthshire.¹ In 1910 his name was legally changed to Paul Robert Burn-Clerk-Rattray.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers.¹ He was commander of the Royal Engineers Highland District.¹

     Jane Clerk-Rattray was the daughter of Robert Clerk-Rattray of Craighall-Rattray, 25th of Rattray and Christina Richardson.² She died on 25 September 1895, unmarried.¹

     Charlotte Mary Clerk-Rattray was the daughter of Robert Clerk-Rattray of Craighall-Rattray, 25th of Rattray and Christina Richardson.² She married Reverend Robert Taylor in 1863.¹ She died on 9 May 1890.¹
     From 1863, her married name became Taylor.
