     Roden Horace Powlett Orde was born on 30 August 1867.2 He was the son of Captain Henry Powlett Shafto Orde and Rosa Anne E. Saga Repp.3,2 He married Augusta Isobel Amelia Law, daughter of Thomas Graves Law and Wilhelmina Frederica Allen, on 4 January 1910.3 He died on 23 May 1941 at age 73.2
     He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)3 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 60th Rifles.1 He was admitted to Gentlemen-at-Arms in 1973.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Hampshire in 1979.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1984.1 He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1993.1
