Maj.-Gen. Augustine Prevost was born on 22 August 1723.1 He was the son of Augustin Prevost and Louise Martine.3 He married Anne Margaret Grand, daughter of The Chevalier George Grand, on 29 August 1765.1 He died on 4 May 1786 at age 62.1
He settled in England.1 He purchased at Greenhill Grove estate, Hertfordshire, England.1 He gained the rank of officer in the 60th Royal America Regiment.1 He fought in the Battle of Fontenoy in 1745.1 He fought in the Battle of Quebec in 1759.1 He was in the Earl of Albermarle’s Regiment of Horse Guards.1 He was General in command of the British forces in beating off the French at Siege of Savannah in 1779.1
