     William Neill Peto was born on 19 July 1922.¹ He was the son of Commander Sir Henry Francis Morton Peto, 3rd Bt. and Edith Keene.² He married, firstly, Jacqueline Mary Valentine Edelsten, daughter of Gurth Edelsten, on 23 July 1943.¹ He and Jacqueline Mary Valentine Edelsten were divorced in 1962.¹ He married, secondly, Ann Bernal Laville, daughter of Lt.-Col. Theodore Thompson Laville, on 11 August 1962.¹ He married, thirdly, Rowan Margaret Cunningham before 24 June 1997.¹ He died on 11 June 2015 at age 92.³
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, England^G.¹ He lived at Lapford Wood House, Lapford, Devon, England.¹
