     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Horse Artillery.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹ He lived at Bembridge, Isle of Wight, England.¹

     Samuel Arthur Peto was born on 9 August 1852.¹ He was the son of Sir Samuel Morton Peto, 1st Bt. and Sarah Ainsworth Kelsall.² He married Ellen Cornelia Harding, daughter of Sir Robert Palmer Harding, on 7 December 1875.¹ He died on 21 January 1942 at age 89.¹
     Samuel Arthur Peto usually went by his middle name of Arthur.¹

     Ellen Cornelia Harding was the daughter of Sir Robert Palmer Harding.² She married Samuel Arthur Peto, son of Sir Samuel Morton Peto, 1st Bt. and Sarah Ainsworth Kelsall, on 7 December 1875.¹ She died on 18 October 1947.¹
     From 7 December 1875, her married name became Peto.¹

     Marjory Kathleen Peto was born on 30 September 1876.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Arthur Peto and Ellen Cornelia Harding.² She married Major Reginald Charles Coldwell, son of Major unknown Coldwell, on 27 June 1901.¹ She died on 15 January 1943 at age 66.¹
     From 27 June 1901, her married name became Coldwell.¹

     Major unknown Coldwell gained the rank of Major in the 5th Dragoon Guards.¹

     Major Reginald Charles Coldwell was the son of Major unknown Coldwell.² He married Marjory Kathleen Peto, daughter of Samuel Arthur Peto and Ellen Cornelia Harding, on 27 June 1901.¹ He died on 18 December 1933.¹

     Joan Ainsworth Peto was born on 24 October 1882.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Arthur Peto and Ellen Cornelia Harding.² She married Major James Leslie Cross, son of Percy Cross, on 22 July 1909.¹
     From 22 July 1909, her married name became Cross.¹
