     He gained the rank of officer in the Second Dragoon Guards.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)¹ He lived at Thame, Oxfordshire, England.¹
