He gained the title of King of Cenel Eoghain.1 He fought in the Battle of Down in 1260, where his people were weakened by losses against the English.1 He gained the title of King of Aileach in 1260.1 In 1261 deposed as King of Aileach in favour of his brother.1 In 1263 he sent envoys to King Haakon of Norway offering him the crown of Ireland if he would expel the Anglo-Normans.1 He gained the title of King of Aileach in 1263.1 In 1275 he defeated the Anglo-Normans.1 In 1281 he defeated and killed King Domnall Og O’Donell near Dungannon.1
