     Lt.-Col. Thomas Arthur Oakshott was born on 4 October 1896.¹ He was the son of Arthur John Oakshott and Elizabeth Strathearn Leggat.² He married Barbara Kathleen Hylton, daughter of Herbert Henry Hylton, on 2 January 1924.¹ He died on 29 April 1968 at age 71, without issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.¹

     Barbara Kathleen Hylton is the daughter of Herbert Henry Hylton.¹ She married, firstly, Renie Patrick Monckton Hoffe-Miles before 1924.¹ She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Thomas Arthur Oakshott, son of Arthur John Oakshott and Elizabeth Strathearn Leggat, on 2 January 1924.¹
     From before 1924, her married name became Hoffe-Miles.¹ From 2 January 1924, her married name became Oakshott.
