     He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England^G.² He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1882 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He was a music critic for the Pall Mall Gazette between 1884 and 1889.² He was a music critic for The Times between 1889 and 1911.² He wrote the book A Door-Keeper of Music, published 1929, auto-biography.² He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.)²

     Charlotte Squire is the daughter of William Squire.¹ She married John Alexander Fuller Maitland, son of John Fuller Maitland and Mary Anne Noble, in 1883.¹
     From 1883, her married name became Fuller Maitland.¹

     Robert Harris Valpy is the son of Captain Anthony Blagrave Valpy.¹ He married Jane Octavia Fuller Maitland, daughter of Ebenezer Fuller Maitland and Bethia Ellis.¹

     Captain Anthony Blagrave Valpy gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹

     Thomas Archibald Fuller Maitland was born on 14 December 1849.¹ He was the son of Thomas Fuller Maitland and Anna Stevens Valpy.¹ He died, unmarried.¹

     Alexander Fuller Maitland was born in 1851.¹ He was the son of Thomas Fuller Maitland and Anna Stevens Valpy.¹ He married Maud Getty.¹ He died in 1919.¹

     Maud Getty married Alexander Fuller Maitland, son of Thomas Fuller Maitland and Anna Stevens Valpy.¹
     Her married name became Fuller Maitland.¹
