He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Saint Maur [E., 1314] after October 1334.1 He fought in the Battle of Crecy in 1346.1 He fought in the Siege of Calais from 1346 to 1347.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Somerset in 1351.1

He succeeded as the 4th Lord Saint Maur [E., 1314] circa January 1361/62.1 He succeeded as the 4th Lord Lovel, of Castle Cary circa January 1361/62.1 In 1379/80 he was in a military expedition to Brittany.1 He was appointed Knight before 1382.1
