Charles Lambert Crawley was the son of John Kenneth Crawley and Cecily Frances Booker.1 He married Hon. Verena Aileen Maxwell, daughter of Arthur Kenlis Maxwell, 11th Baron Farnham and Aileen Selina Coote, on 3 February 1934.1 He died on 24 July 1935.1

He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards.2 He was with Brown Shipley, merchant bankers between 1961 and 1966.2 He was with M&G Group Ltd between 1966 and 1978.2 He was manager of Barningham and Holgate Estates in 1979.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Milbank, of Well, co. York, and of Hart, co. Durham [U.K., 1882] on 4 April 1984.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Durham between 1991 and 1992.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of North Yorkshire in 1998.2
