James Stuart, 4th Duke of Lennox was born on 6 April 1612 at Blackfriars, London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Esmé Stuart, 3rd Duke of Lennox and Katherine Clifton, Baroness Clifton (of Leighton Bromswold).1 He married Lady Mary Villiers, daughter of George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham and Catherine Manners, Baroness de Ros of Helmsley, on 3 August 1637.3 He died on 30 March 1655 at age 42.1 He was buried on 18 April 1655 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.
He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Stuart of Leighton Bromswold, co. George Stuart, 9th Seigneur d’Aubigny was born on 17 July 1618 at Bath House, Holborn, London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Esmé Stuart, 3rd Duke of Lennox and Katherine Clifton, Baroness Clifton (of Leighton Bromswold).1 He married Lady Katherine Howard, daughter of Theophilus Howard, 2nd Earl of Suffolk and Lady Elizabeth Home, in 1638 in a secret marriage.1 He died on 23 October 1642 at age 24 at Edgehill, EnglandG, killed in action.1 He was buried at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered to Katherine Lady Aubigny on 8 June 1647.1
He was educated at Paris, FranceG.1 He succeeded as the 9th Seigneur d’Aubigny, de Berry [France, 1423] in 1632.1 He fought in the Battle of Edgehill on 23 October 1642.1

Lady Katherine Howard1

Lady Katherine Howard was the daughter of Theophilus Howard, 2nd Earl of Suffolk and Lady Elizabeth Home.1 She married, firstly, George Stuart, 9th Seigneur d’Aubigny, son of Esmé Stuart, 3rd Duke of Lennox and Katherine Clifton, Baroness Clifton (of Leighton Bromswold), in 1638 in a secret marriage.1 She married, secondly, James Livingston, 1st Earl of Newburgh, son of Sir John Livingston of Kinnaird, 1st Bt. and Jane Sproxton, before December 1648.1 She died in 1650 at The Hague, The NetherlandsG, without male issue, in exile.1,3
From 1638, her married name became Stuart.1 After her marriage, Lady Katherine Howard was styled as Viscountess of Newburgh before December 1648. From before December 1648, her married name became Livingston.1
