Lt.-Gen. Sir Michael Frederic Rimington was born on 23 May 1858 at Penrith, Cumberland, England.3,2 He was the son of Michael Rimington and Caroline Emma Thornhill.3 He married Agnes Cunningham in 1887.2 He died on 19 December 1928 at age 70.3
He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1 He fought in the Boer War.2 He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) on 16 December 1911.1,2 He fought in the First World War.2 He was awarded the Commandeur, Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur.3
