     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Battalion and 3rd Battalion, Rifle Brigade.¹

     Michael Sidney Shaw-Stewart was born on 29 June 1905.¹ He was the son of Walter Richard Shaw-Stewart and Mary Beatrice Sydney Lane.¹ He died on 11 July 1936 at age 31, accidentally shot dead.¹

     Mary Sibell Agnes Shaw-Stewart was born on 3 April 1896.¹ She was the daughter of Walter Richard Shaw-Stewart and Mary Beatrice Sydney Lane.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Ian Rose Innes Forbes, son of Lt.-Col. John Foster Forbes of Rothiemay and Mary Livesey, on 14 February 1932.¹ She died on 5 March 1957 at age 60, without issue.¹
     From 14 February 1932, her married name became Forbes.¹ She was registered as a Associate, Royal Red Cross (A.R.R.C.)¹
