     Patrick Houston Shaw-Stewart was born on 17 August 1888.¹ He was the son of Maj.-Gen. John Heron Maxwell Shaw-Stewart and Mary Catherine Bedingfeld Collyer.¹ He died on 30 December 1917 at age 29 at Metz, France^G, killed in action.²
     He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was a poet.² He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.¹ He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur.² He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.²

     Mary Winifred Shaw-Stewart was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Heron Maxwell Shaw-Stewart and Mary Catherine Bedingfeld Collyer.¹ She died on 21 January 1937, unmarried.¹

     Katharine Bedingfeld Shaw-Stewart was born in 1880.² She was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Heron Maxwell Shaw-Stewart and Mary Catherine Bedingfeld Collyer.¹ She died on 10 July 1959, unmarried.¹
     She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1943.¹

     Mary Elizabeth Shaw-Stewart was the daughter of John Shaw Shaw-Stewart and Jane Stuart Heron-Maxwell.¹ She married James Howden on 6 March 1856.¹ She died on 13 January 1909.¹
     From 6 March 1856, her married name became Howden.
