Ernest Otway Ward La Touche1 
He was given the name of Ernest Otway Ward at birth.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 5th Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles.1 He held the office of Inspector of Congested Districts Board [Ireland] between 1893 and 1900.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901, where he won a medal and four clasps.1 He held the office of Inspector of Crown Lands, Transvaal between 1903 and 1921.1 On 8 July 1921 his name was legally changed to Ernest Otway Ward La Touche by Royal Licence.1
