     Major Gerard Joseph McCann was born in 1915 at Richmond, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of Lawrence D. McCann and Marjorie L. Huddleston.3,2 He married Jean Pollock, daughter of Lt.-Col. Evelyn Pollock and Mary Tarrant, on 2 August 1940.1 He died on 10 July 1943, killed in action.1
     He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Marines.1
