Sir John Denton Marsden, 2nd Bt. was born on 25 August 1913.1 He was the son of Sir John Denton Marsden, 1st Bt. and Agnes Mary Ronald.2 He married Hope Llewelyn, daughter of G E Llewelyn, on 5 September 1939.1 He died on 22 July 1985 at age 71 at Bodmin, Cornwall, England.1,3
He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England.1 He graduated from St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1935 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Marsden, of Grimsby, co. Lincoln [U.K., 1924] on 25 April 1944.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lindsey in 1950.1 He was chairman and managing director of Consolidated Fisheries.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1955.1
