Robert Lister Macneil, 25th of Barra1 
He was an architect.1 In 1914 he succeeded his father, when the chiefship devolved on him by tanistry (nomination.)1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 27 May 1915.1 He was a Trade advisor to the U.S. Government during the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1918 and 1919 in the Canadian Engineers.1 In 1938 he completed the restoration of Kisimul Castle.1 He was chairman of the Inventions Board.1 He was founder of the American Committee for the Defence of British Homes.1 He was a practising chairman of the British Purchasing Committee, New York between 1940 and 1942.1 He wrote the book Castle in the Sea.1 He wrote the book The Clan Macneil.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 25 May 1962.1
