     He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1900.1 He fought in the East Africa Campaign between 1903 and 1904.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers and Royal Signals.1 He was Chief Signal Officer of the Egypt between 1924 and 1927.1 He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Mackworth, of the Gnoll, Glamorgan [G.B., 1776] on 2 May 1948.1

     He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1920.1 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V between 1929 and 1930.1 He gained the rank of Commodore between 1939 and 1942 in the Convoys.1
