     Sir Dermot Francis MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin was born on 14 June 1906.¹ He was the son of Charles Edward MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin and Caroline Mary Whyte.² He married Betty Steel, daughter of J. W. Steel, on 10 May 1934.¹ He died on 27 August 1989 at age 83.¹
     He was educated at Stonyhurst College, Blackburn, Lancashire, England.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)¹ He was with the Diplomatic Service between 1929 and 1965.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1947.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1954.¹ He was Minister to Romania between 1954 and 1956.¹ He held the office of Ambassador to Indonesia between 1956 and 1959.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1961.¹ He held the office of Ambassador to Thailand between 1961 and 1965.¹

     J. W. Steel lived at Hong Kong.¹

     Betty Steel is the daughter of J. W. Steel.² She married Sir Dermot Francis MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin, son of Charles Edward MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin and Caroline Mary Whyte, on 10 May 1934.¹
     From 10 May 1934, her married name became MacDermot.

     Niall Anthony MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin was born on 25 April 1935.¹ He was the son of Sir Dermot Francis MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin and Betty Steel.² He married Janet Frost, daughter of W. H. J. Frost, on 9 May 1959.¹ He died on 19 February 2003 at age 67.¹
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England.¹ He was director of Rupert Neve & Company at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.¹ He retired from the military in 1970, with the rank of Squadron Leader, late of the Royal Air Force.¹

     W. H. J. Frost lived at Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹

     Janet Frost is the daughter of W. H. J. Frost.² She married Niall Anthony MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin, son of Sir Dermot Francis MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin and Betty Steel, on 9 May 1959.¹

     Anna Siobhan MacDermot was born on 9 September 1972.¹ She is the daughter of Niall Anthony MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin and Janet Frost.²
