     Hugh MacDermot was the son of Cathal ‘Roe’ MacDermot, Chief and Prince of Moylurgh and Eleanor O’Mulloy.² He married Elizabeth Kelly.¹ He died in 1707.¹
     He fought in the Battle of Aughrim, where he was taken prisoner.¹ In 1689 he defended Sligo on behalf of King James II.¹ He lived at Coolavin, Ireland.¹

     Hugh MacDermot, The MacDermot was the son of Myles MacDermot and Bridget O’Conor.² He married Elizabeth Frances O’Conor, daughter of Denis O’Conor and Catherine Browne, on 16 July 1793.¹ He died in June 1824.¹
     He was member of the Dublin Society of United Irishmen.¹ He graduated from Paris University, Paris, France^G, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He lived at Coolavin, Ireland.¹
