     Granville Ramage McAlpine was born in 1883.¹ He was the son of Sir Robert McAlpine, 1st Bt. and Agnes Hepburn.² He married Beatrice Mary Donald in 1922.¹ He died on 19 October 1928.¹

     Beatrice Mary Donald married Granville Ramage McAlpine, son of Sir Robert McAlpine, 1st Bt. and Agnes Hepburn, in 1922.¹ She died on 13 April 1936.¹
     From 1922, her married name became McAlpine.

     Maureen Agnes McAlpine was born on 17 March 1925.¹ She was the daughter of Granville Ramage McAlpine and Beatrice Mary Donald.² She married Frederick Stanley Thornton on 22 October 1949.¹ She died on 28 July 2020 at age 95.³
     From 22 October 1949, her married name became Thornton.

     Frederick Stanley Thornton married Maureen Agnes McAlpine, daughter of Granville Ramage McAlpine and Beatrice Mary Donald, on 22 October 1949.¹ He died in 1994.²
     He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)¹

     David Malcolm Thornton was born on 14 September 1950.¹ He is the son of Frederick Stanley Thornton and Maureen Agnes McAlpine.² He married Stephanie Patricia Mills in 1973.¹
     He was educated at Gordonstoun School, Elgin, Morayshire, Scotland^G.² He was educated at Exeter University, Exeter, Devon, England^G.¹

     Stephanie Patricia Mills married David Malcolm Thornton, son of Frederick Stanley Thornton and Maureen Agnes McAlpine, in 1973.¹
     From 1973, her married name became Thornton.

     Simon Edward Thornton was born in 1983.¹ He is the son of David Malcolm Thornton and Stephanie Patricia Mills.²

     Andrew William Thornton was born on 24 July 1953.¹ He is the son of Frederick Stanley Thornton and Maureen Agnes McAlpine.² He married Jacqueline Mary Deane in 1981.¹
     He was educated at Gordonstoun School, Elgin, Morayshire, Scotland.¹ He lived in 2003 at Willow Orchard, Frating Road, Great Bromley, Essex, England.¹

     Jacqueline Mary Deane married Andrew William Thornton, son of Frederick Stanley Thornton and Maureen Agnes McAlpine, in 1981.¹
     Her married name became Thornton.
