He was probably the Simon commemorated in the Gaelic name for the Chief of the House MacShimi, MacShimidh or Mac Simi (‘son of Simon.1‘) He held the office of Sheriff of Kincardine in 1317.1 He fought in the Battle of Halidon Hill on 19 July 1333.1
