     Daniel Riddiford was born circa 1814.2 He was the son of Daniel Riddiford and Harriett Strother Balmforth.2 He was baptised on 22 April 1817 at Drypool, Yorkshire, England.2 He married Harriot Stone, daughter of Richard Buckley Stone and Elizabeth Margaret Filder, on 18 January 1839 at Holy Trinity, Brompton, London, England.2 He died on 20 March 1875 at Woburn, Lower Hutt, New Zealand.2
     He and Harriot Stone emigrated to Wellington, New Zealand, arriving on 1840 on board the Adelaide.2

     Thomasine Riddiford was born on 13 November 1846 at Lower Hutt, New Zealand.2 She was the daughter of Daniel Riddiford and Harriot Stone.3,2 She married Captain James Dudley Ryder Hewitt, son of Rev. Hon. John Pratt Hewitt and Elizabeth Gervais, on 6 September 1873 at St. James, Lower Hutt, New Zealand.1,2 She died on 18 June 1942 at age 95.1,2
     From 6 September 1873, her married name became Hewitt.

     John Edward Hewitt was born on 29 June 1874.1 He was the son of Captain James Dudley Ryder Hewitt and Thomasine Riddiford.2 He married Ellen Edith Hitchings, daughter of V. T. Hitchings, on 30 January 1901.1 He died on 21 June 1949 at age 74.1
