     She graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ From 2 July 1971, her married name became Cockerill. She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1998.¹
