     From 26 September 1914, her married name became Gardyne.

     He lived at Finavon Castle, Forfarshire, Scotland.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Gordon Highlanders.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1

     David Gardyne was born on 5 May 1918.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Alan David Greenhill Gardyne and Rachel Lethbridge.2 He died on 3 November 1942 at age 24 at El Alamein, Egypt, killed in action.1
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Major in the Gordon Highlanders.1 He fought in the Battle of El Alamein.1

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Polish Forces.1 He fought in the Second World War, in Poland, Russia and Italy.2
