     Captain Edward Knowles was born in 1742.1 He was the son of Admiral Sir Charles Knowles, 1st Bt. and Mary Alleyne.2 He died in January 1762, lost at sea commanding H.M.S. Peregrine in a storm off Belle Isle, unmarried.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1

     Maria Magdalena Theresa de Bouget was the daughter of Henri Francis, Comte de Bouget.2 She married Admiral Sir Charles Knowles, 1st Bt., son of Charles Knollys and Elizabeth Price, on 29 July 1750.1 She died on 6 March 1796.1
     From 29 July 1750, her married name became Knowles.

     Anna Charlotte Christiana Knowles was born on 20 November 1752.1 She was the daughter of Admiral Sir Charles Knowles, 1st Bt. and Maria Magdalena Theresa de Bouget.2 She married Captain John Winder on 29 March 1781.1 She died on 15 May 1839 at age 86.1
     From 29 March 1781, her married name became Winder. She was Lady in Waiting to Empress Catharine II of Russia.1

     Captain John Winder married Anna Charlotte Christiana Knowles, daughter of Admiral Sir Charles Knowles, 1st Bt. and Maria Magdalena Theresa de Bouget, on 29 March 1781.1 He died on 29 February 1820.1
     He lived at Vaynor Park, Monmouthshire, Wales.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the King’s Dragoon Guards.1

     Sir Francis Charles Knowles, 3rd Bt. was born on 10 June 1802.1 He was the son of Admiral Sir Henry Charles Knowles, 2nd Bt. and Charlotte Johnstone.2 He married Emma Pocock, daughter of Sir George Pocock, 1st Bt., on 26 May 1831.1 He died on 19 March 1892 at age 89.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Knowles, of Lovell Hill, Berkshire [G.B., 1765] on 28 November 1831.1 He was a practising barrister.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)1
