     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Kirkpatrick, of Closeburn [N.S., 1685].1

     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dumfries burghs between 1736 and 1738.1 He was Clerk of the Court of Session in 1738.1

     Her married name became Kirkpatrick.

     He was given the name of Charles Kirkpatrick at birth.1 He lived at Hoddom, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.1

     Eleanora Renton was born circa 1748.2 She was the daughter of John Renton of Lamberton and Lady Susan Montgomerie.3,2 She married Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe, son of William Kirkpatrick and Jean Erskine, on 22 August 1770.1 She died on 8 August 1836 at Hoddom Castle, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.2
     From 22 August 1770, her married name became Kirkpatrick Sharpe.
