     Sir James King, 1st Bt. was born on 13 July 1830.² He was the son of John King and Christina Macnie.² He married Marian Westall, daughter of William Westall, on 20 August 1861.² He died on 1 October 1911 at age 81.²
     He held the office of Dean of Guild, Glasgow between 1874 and 1876.² He was director and chairman of Clydesdale Bank.² He was Dean of Faculties between 1879 and 1882 at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.² He held the office of Lord Provost of Glasgow between 1886 and 1889.² He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1887.² He was Assessor to the Chancellor between 1887 and 1903 at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.² He was director of Caledonian Railway.² He was created 1st Baronet King, of Campsie, co. Stirling [U.K.] on 10 October 1888.² He held the office of member of the Royal Commission for the West Highlands in 1890.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Glasgow.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lanarkshire.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Stirlingshire.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lanarkshire.²

     John King was born on 19 August 1834.¹ He was the son of John King and Christina Macnie.² He died in 1851.¹

     Charles Macintosh King was born on 5 May 1836.¹ He was the son of John King and Christina Macnie.² He married Jane Margaret Buchanan, daughter of Andrew Buchanan, on 6 June 1867.¹ He died on 11 February 1920 at age 83.¹
     He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 4th Volunteer Battalion, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Glasgow.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lanarkshire.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Stirlingshire.¹ He lived at Antermony House, Campsie, Stirlingshire, Scotland.¹

     Andrew Buchanan graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He was Professor at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.¹

     Jane Margaret Buchanan was the daughter of Andrew Buchanan.² She married Charles Macintosh King, son of John King and Christina Macnie, on 6 June 1867.¹ She died on 27 February 1923.¹
     From 6 June 1867, her married name became King.

     John King was born on 16 July 1870.¹ He was the son of Charles Macintosh King and Jane Margaret Buchanan.² He died on 24 May 1890 at age 19.¹

     Major Andrew Buchanan King was born on 17 March 1875.¹ He was the son of Charles Macintosh King and Jane Margaret Buchanan.² He married Evelyn Nina Sharpe, daughter of Reverend Edmund Sharpe, on 17 April 1912.¹ He died on 25 May 1915 at age 40, from wounds received in action.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the 7th Battalion, Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.¹

     Reverend Edmund Sharpe was Vicar at Newport, Isle of Wight, England.¹

     Evelyn Nina Sharpe was the daughter of Reverend Edmund Sharpe.² She married Major Andrew Buchanan King, son of Charles Macintosh King and Jane Margaret Buchanan, on 17 April 1912.¹ She died on 15 February 1962.¹
     From 17 April 1912, her married name became King.
