     James Gourlay, 28th of Kincraig was born on 30 May 1930.1 He was the son of Robert Gourlay and Irene Wolff.2 He married, firstly, Victoria Marie Wolff, daughter of James Wolff, on 6 June 1959.1 He married, secondly, Gilda Rames, daughter of Victor Rames, on 15 October 1967.1 He died on 30 March 2008 at age 77.3
     He was educated at Sedbergh School, Sedbergh, Cumbria, England.1 He was educated at Glasgow University, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 He was partner of Rudolf Wolff & Company.1 He held the position of 28th Chief of the Clan Kincraig from in March 1995. after his kinsman Brian Murray-Gourlay renounced the barony in his favour ‘being the person best suited and able to lead the Honourable Clan.1‘ He lived in 2003 at 95 Eaton Place, London, EnglandG.1
