     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, London, England.1 He fought in the Waziristan Campaign in 1922, he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the Khajuri Plain, North-West Frontier between 1930 and 1931, he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the Second World War, he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier in the Royal Engineers.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1945.1 He was Deputy Director of Cadets, War Office.1 He held the office of Member of the East Suffolk County Council.1
