     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the King’s African Rifles.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Aberdeenshire.¹

     Air Chief Marshal Sir Charles Stuart Burnett was born on 3 April 1882.¹ He was the son of John Alexander Burnett, 7th of Kemnay and Charlotte Susan Forbes-Gordon.² He married Sybil P. Beresford Bell, daughter of John Bell, in 1913.¹ He died on 9 April 1945 at age 63.¹
