     Caroline Elizabeth Mary Johnstone was the daughter of James Johnstone of Alva and Hon. Augusta Anne Norton.² She died on 4 July 1929.¹
     She lived at Alva, Clackmannanshire, Scotland.¹

     Tamburlaine Gorst is the son of Sir John Michael Gorst and Noël Harington Walker.¹

     Sarah Mary L’Estrange was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Peisley L’Estrange.² She married James Johnstone of Alva, son of James Raymond Johnstone of Alva and Mary Elizabeth Cholmeley, on 5 May 1862.¹ She died on 27 May 1908.¹
     From 5 May 1862, her married name became Johnstone.

     Major James Henry L’Estrange Johnstone of Hangingshaw was born on 8 August 1865.¹ He was the son of James Johnstone of Alva and Sarah Mary L’Estrange.² He married Amy Octavia Wauchope, daughter of Andrew Wauchope, on 29 October 1891.¹ He died on 24 September 1906 at age 41.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Engineers.¹ He was President of the Railway and Telegraph Administration at Cairo, Egypt.¹ He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Selkirk and Clackmannan.¹ He lived at Hangingshaw, Selkirkshire, Scotland.¹

     Amy Octavia Wauchope was the daughter of Andrew Wauchope.¹ She married, firstly, Major James Henry L’Estrange Johnstone of Hangingshaw, son of James Johnstone of Alva and Sarah Mary L’Estrange, on 29 October 1891.¹ She married, secondly, Alfred Charles Seton-Christopher on 1 June 1927.¹ She died on 21 May 1949.¹
     From 29 October 1891, her married name became Johnstone. She was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)¹ From 1 June 1927, her married name became Seton-Christopher.¹

     John Andrew Johnstone was born on 11 May 1893.¹ He was the son of Major James Henry L’Estrange Johnstone of Hangingshaw and Amy Octavia Wauchope.² He died on 20 May 1915 at age 22, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Field Artillery.¹ He lived at Hangingshaw, Selkirkshire, Scotland.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Flying Corps.¹

     Graham John Stubbs married Patricia Harrington McGregor, daughter of Malcolm James Harrington McGregor and Marjorie Sheila Maclure.¹
     He lived at Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹

     Thomas Walker McIntyre of Sorn married Jeannie Paterson Galloway.²
     He lived at Sorn Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland.¹

     Alison McIntyre was the daughter of Thomas Walker McIntyre of Sorn and Jeannie Paterson Galloway.² She married Captain Henry James Johnstone, son of Major James Henry L’Estrange Johnstone of Hangingshaw and Amy Octavia Wauchope, on 25 January 1923.¹ She died in 1984.¹
     From 25 January 1923, her married name became Johnstone.
