     Sir Jabez Edward Johnson-Ferguson, 1st Bt. was born on 27 November 1849.¹ He was the son of Jabez Johnson and Mary Johnson.² He married Williamina Margaret Ellen Cunningham, daughter of William Alexander Cunningham and Anna Ferguson, on 15 April 1874.¹ He died on 10 December 1929 at age 80.¹
     He was given the name of Jabez Edward Johnson at birth.¹ Sir Jabez Edward Johnson-Ferguson, 1st Bt. usually went by his middle name of Edward.¹ He graduated from St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was a practising barrister.¹ In 1881 his name was legally changed to Jabez Edward Johnson-Ferguson.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Loughborough between 1885 and 1886.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Loughborough between 1892 and 1900.¹ On 2 December 1899 his name was legally changed to Jabez Edward Johnson-Ferguson by Royal Licence.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Johnson-Ferguson, of Springkell, co. Dumfries, Kenyon, Newchurch-in-Culcheth, co. Palatine, Lancashire and Wiston, co. Lanark [U.K.] on 18 July 1906.¹

     William Alexander Cunningham was born circa 1808 at Scotland.² He married Anna Ferguson on 3 June 1835 at Muirkirk, Ayrshire, Scotland.²
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Manchester, Lancashire, England.¹

     Williamina Margaret Ellen Cunningham was born in 1849 at Manchester, Lancashire, England.² She was the daughter of William Alexander Cunningham and Anna Ferguson.^3,2 She married Sir Jabez Edward Johnson-Ferguson, 1st Bt., son of Jabez Johnson and Mary Johnson, on 15 April 1874.¹ She died on 18 April 1937.¹
     From 15 April 1874, her married name became Johnson-Ferguson.
