     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Unionist) for Guildford between 1910 and 1922.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County London.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Sutherland.1 He held the office of Mayor of Westminster between 1923 and 1924.1 He was chairman of Prudential Assurance.1 He was awarded the Order of Dannebrog.1 He was created 1st Baronet Horne, of Shackleford, co.      Sir Alan Edgar Horne, 2nd Bt. was born on 19 September 1889.1 He was the son of Sir William Edgar Horne, 1st Bt. and Margery May.2 He married, firstly, Florence Etty Kelly, daughter of Arthur Wolseley Kelly, on 27 August 1915.1 He married, secondly, Roslyn Robinson, daughter of John Bryan Robinson, on 21 July 1924.1 He and Roslyn Robinson were divorced in 1930.1 He died on 4 February 1984 at age 94.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War, and was mentioned in despatches four times.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Surrey Yeomanry.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre with Palm.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Pioneer Corps.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Horne, of Shackleford, co.      William Guy Horne was born on 19 September 1889.1 He was the son of Sir William Edgar Horne, 1st Bt. and Margery May.2 He married, firstly, Louisa Carey Hardy, daughter of Herbert Carey Hardy and Adela Louisa Cassandra Knight, in July 1920.1 He and Louisa Carey Hardy were divorced in 1949.1 He married, secondly, Hortense Barbiton after 1949.1 He died on 3 August 1974 at age 84 at France.3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War, where he became a POW.1 He gained the rank of officer in the 19th Royal Hussars.1 He gained the rank of in 1921 in the 10th Hussars.1 He retired from the military in 1930, with the rank of Major.1 He was a director of Prudential Assurance between 1932 and 1942.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1943, with the Auxiliary Air Force.1
