Matthew Lewis Vaughan Davies, 1st and last Baron Ystwyth1 
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Cardiganshire in 1875.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Cardigan between 1895 and 1920.1 He was president of the Agriculture Department at University of Wales, WalesG.1 He was created 1st Baron Ystwyth, of Tan-y-Bwich, co. Cardigan [U.K.] on 18 January 1921.1
