     He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Devonshire Regiment.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the 8th (Service) Battalion, Devonshire regiment.¹ He lived at Brightwell Park, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     Agnes Selina Thornton was the daughter of Reverend William Thornton.¹ She married Major Roger Fletcher Earle Lowndes-Stone-Norton, son of Robert Thomas Lowndes Lowndes-Stone-Norton and Catherine Charlotte Lowndes-Stone, on 18 April 1890.¹ She died on 8 October 1941.¹
     From 18 April 1890, her married name became Lowndes-Stone-Norton.¹

     Fletcher William Lowndes-Stone-Norton was born on 12 April 1908.¹ He was the son of Major Roger Fletcher Earle Lowndes-Stone-Norton and Agnes Selina Thornton.¹ He married Emma Dorothy Gager, daughter of Henry Thomas Gager, on 15 August 1941.¹ He and Emma Dorothy Gager were divorced in 1945.¹ He died on 13 January 1983 at age 74.²
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1932 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Temporary Major in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.¹ He lived at 161 Bukit Piatu, Malacca, Malaysia.²

     Emma Dorothy Gager is the daughter of Henry Thomas Gager.¹ She married, firstly, Ralph Minto Wilson before 1941.¹ She married, secondly, Fletcher William Lowndes-Stone-Norton, son of Major Roger Fletcher Earle Lowndes-Stone-Norton and Agnes Selina Thornton, on 15 August 1941.¹ She and Fletcher William Lowndes-Stone-Norton were divorced in 1945.¹
     From before 1941, her married name became Wilson.¹ From 15 August 1941, her married name became Lowndes-Stone-Norton.¹
