He was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for London.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Suffolk, Stowmarket Division between 1891 and 1895.1 He was created 1st Baron Wandsworth, of Wandsowrth, London [U.K.] on 19 July 1895.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 4th Volunteer Battalion, East Surrey Regiment.1
