He gained the title of Graf Taaffe [Holy Roman Empire].1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Kaiser Franz Joseph’s Regiment.1 He succeeded as the 12th Viscount Taaffe of Corren, co. Sligo [I., 1628] on 29 November 1895.1 He succeeded as the 12th Baron of Ballymote, co. Sligo [I., 1628] on 29 November 1895.1 On 28 March 1919 his titles were removed from the Roll of Peers.1
