(Tory) for Eye between 1817 and 1824.¹ He held the office of Deputy Speaker, House of Lords between 1818 and 1826.¹ He held the office of Recorder of Bristol between 1818 and 1826.¹ He held the office of Attorney-General between 1819 and 1824.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1824.¹ He held the office of Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas between January 1824 and April 1824.¹ He was created 1st Baron Gifford of St. Leonard’s, co. Devon [U.K.] on 30 January 1824.¹ He held the office of Master of the Rolls between April 1824 and 1826.¹

     Edward Scott Gifford is the son of Robert Gifford, 1st Baron Gifford of St. Leonard’s and Harriet Maria Drewe.¹

     Reverend Hon. John Gifford was born on 27 November 1821.¹ He was the son of Robert Gifford, 1st Baron Gifford of St. Leonard’s and Harriet Maria Drewe.¹ He married Alice Fanny Drewe, daughter of Edward Simcoe Drewe, on 18 September 1851.¹ He died on 2 November 1887 at age 65.¹
     He was the Rector at Siddington, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹

     Alice Fanny Drewe was the daughter of Edward Simcoe Drewe.¹ She married Reverend Hon. John Gifford, son of Robert Gifford, 1st Baron Gifford of St. Leonard’s and Harriet Maria Drewe, on 18 September 1851.¹ She died on 6 March 1904.¹
     From 18 September 1851, her married name became Gifford.¹

     Edward Simcoe Drewe lived at The Grange, Devon, England^G.¹

     Edward Herbert Gifford was born on 7 August 1864.¹ He was the son of Reverend Hon. John Gifford and Alice Fanny Drewe.¹ He married Gwendolen Locke, daughter of John Arthur Locke, on 22 April 1926.¹ He died on 13 May 1933 at age 68.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal 1st Devon Imperial Yeomanry.¹

     Gwendolen Locke was the daughter of John Arthur Locke.¹ She married Edward Herbert Gifford, son of Reverend Hon. John Gifford and Alice Fanny Drewe, on 22 April 1926.¹ She died on 7 January 1947.¹
     From 22 April 1926, her married name became Gifford.¹

     Alice Mildred Gifford was the daughter of Reverend Hon. John Gifford and Alice Fanny Drewe.¹ She married Thomas Carew Daniel on 28 January 1875.¹ She died in 1897, without issue.¹
     From 28 January 1875, her married name became Daniel.¹
