     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.5 He was educated in 1924 at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.5 He gained the rank of officer between 1924 and 1928 in the Life Guards.5 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Acton between 1931 and 1943.5 He gained the rank of Captain in the Life Guards.4 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1940.4
