Sir John Heathcoat-Amory, 3rd Bt. was born on 2 May 1894.1 He was the son of Sir Ian Murray Heathcoat-Amory, 2nd Bt. and Alexandra Georgina Seymour.1 He married Joyce Wethered, daughter of Herbert Newton Wethered, on 6 January 1937.1 He died on 22 November 1972 at age 78, without issue.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th Battalion, Devonshire Regiment.1 He fought in the First World War, and was mentioned in despatches.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon in 1922.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Heathcoat-Amory [U.K., 1874] on 4 January 1931.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Devon in 1942.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Devon in 1952.1

Joyce Wethered was born in 1901.2 She was the daughter of Herbert Newton Wethered.1 She married Sir John Heathcoat-Amory, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Ian Murray Heathcoat-Amory, 2nd Bt. and Alexandra Georgina Seymour, on 6 January 1937.1 She died in 1997.2
She was a golder.1 Her married name became Heathcoat-Amory.

He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was Aide-de-Camp to the GOC-in-C of the Western Command in 1937.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1943.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was admitted to Gentlemen-at-Arms between 1950 and 1966.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Heathcoat-Amory [U.K., 1874] on 20 January 1981.2
